Home, Sweet Home.

Mom appears to be doing much better and is happier now at home. The therapist dropped by on Friday to work on getting up and down without putting pressure on her broken leg and to work on her muscles. The therapist will be coming Mon/Wed/Friday's. Today the aid dropped by to help Mom "freshen up" a bit and washed her hair. She still cannot get in the shower until she gets less wobbly. After the sponge bath we took her outside in the wheelchair and looked at the flowers. Mom obviously enjoyed being clean and enjoyed the time outside in the garden. She even stayed outside for a while to supervise Ethan and I cutting the stump down to about 6 inches. We finished with the stump and cleaned up around it so that cars can again park there. Hurray!!!!! it's finished.

On The Road Home

Tie on the yellow ribbons and sweep the porch, cuz Mom's coming home today. I think the doctor would prefer a few more days doing time at Pioneer Valley, but the therapist will make house calls to continue Mom's weight training so that she'll eventually be strong enough to hit the 'loo' (sp?) or the 'can' by herself. She still has a cough, but it is better than before. Dad, Marybeth and Sara will be bringing her home to get her comfy. The rest of us will need to see how to help with her mobility or other issues: i.e. wheelchair ramp, etc. Welcome home Mom!!!
